15 things that Happen to Dancers who do Both Roles, Leading and Following

15 things that happen to dancers who do both roles, leading and following

1. They don’t discriminate. Whatever the other person dances or whatever gender they are, a dance is a dance.
2. They always need to ask the other dancer: lead, follow or role rotation?
3. They can dance with 100% of the room. Not just people that dance “the other role”.
4. They need to learn double, all the follower’s skills and all the leader’s skills.
5. Even if they’re following in a class they always have to pay attention because they want to lead it too.
6. They have respect for both roles, they both have their hardships, so they tend to be more understanding and less stressed with mistakes.
7. They keep getting asked which role they like more.
8. They never have to wait in class. They can just switch roles to whatever is needed.
9. They get bored if they spend a whole party dancing just one role.
10. It’s easier to meet more people, both leaders and followers in every room!
11. Rolerotation dancers have usually suffered unpleasant encounters so they tend to be more caring towards the dance community.
12. They have to work both sides of the body equally, to the right and to the left.
13. They understand that styling is something to play with. So no more man or lady, movement has no gender.
14. They have a wider repertoire, both in partner and solo technique.
15. Which one can you think of❓😜
